Weigel Broadcasting Co. Selects VideoAmp as First Alternative Currency Provider

New York, NY, 04/08/2026 – Weigel Broadcasting Co., one of the largest independent broadcasters in the United States, has selected VideoAmp as its first alternative currency provider. VideoAmp, a media performance platform, will enable both demographic (demo) and data-driven linear (DDL) transactions ahead of the 2026 upfront season across all nine of Weigel’s national television networks, including MeTV, America’s #1 classic television network.

The agreement marks a significant expansion of VideoAmp’s footprint within the independent broadcast ecosystem, bringing currency-grade measurement, audience insights, and advanced data capabilities to a segment of the market that has historically lacked access to modern, cross-platform measurement solutions.

“Weigel has built an incredibly strong portfolio of networks with highly engaged audiences,” said Bryan Goski, Chief Revenue Officer at VideoAmp. “By adopting VideoAmp’s measurement and currency capabilities across their full portfolio, they are bringing greater precision, flexibility, and transparency to buyers and setting a new standard for how independent broadcasters can transact in today’s market.”

Weigel Broadcasting Co. owns and operates nine national multicast networks, including MeTV, Heroes & Icons, Start TV, dabl, Catchy Comedy, Story Television, MeTV Toons, MOVIES!, and WEST reaching millions of U.S. households.

“This agreement reflects our continued focus on evolving how we bring our inventory to market,” said John Hendricks, Executive Vice President of Sales at Weigel Broadcasting Co. “Leveraging the infrastructure and APIs that VideoAmp has made available allows us to integrate advanced measurement and data directly into our existing workflows, giving our advertising partners greater confidence and transparency in how they plan and transact across our networks.”

Weigel will leverage VideoAmp’s tech made accessible through dashboards, APIs and aggregated data feeds. This essential infrastructure is designed to give modern marketers a privacy-compliant, data-driven foundation for more accurate and efficient media transactions, including:

  • Access to first-party, census level viewership data for forecasting, yield optimization, and campaign pacing
  • Cross-platform audience measurement across linear, streaming, and digital, enabling unified reach and frequency analysis
  • Currency enablement for both demographic and data-driven linear transactions during the Upfront and beyond

As the TV advertising ecosystem continues to shift toward more data-driven and outcome-based transactions, the announcement underscores growing momentum behind alternative currencies. VideoAmp now supports 11 major agency groups, more than 1,600 advertisers, and nearly the entire TV ecosystem, with currency adoption rapidly scaling from $20 million in 2022 to upwards of $6 billion projected in currency and measurement for 2026.
